A Chaptarized Generation: Future Iraqi leaders

by: Bahman Abdulrahman
For a long time AUI-S has accused students of plagiarism, but no one mentioned the university’s violation of Copyright laws. Ironically, since we
are in Iraq, its fine. You can get an entire book copied from the Copy Center at the second floor in “Green Zone”. Since “Cargos” of books are staked at the Basra Port, this mess is justified by the university. Let’s put the Copyright issue aside, and concentrate on “future Iraqi Leaders.”
I don’t want to ask what “Iraq” will look like if leaders equipped by AUI-S given the stick to rule, as I want to avoid laughing too much. A “Chaptarized Generation” will be my definition if I am asked to define future AUI-S lucky graduates.
AUI-S will hopefully “produce” a generation which is familiar with only one side of many serious issues. A chapter “taken” form a work of one author is the practice of AUI-S instructors. I wonder how a “slothful” Iraqi student motivated only by money can understand a full argument while he is only given a part that is in support of the instructors. Unfortunately, thus far many instructors refuse different ideas from students; perhaps they are of “Chaptarized Generation”, as well.
This “excerpting” method will never lead to knowledgeable critical thinkers, the first thing that AUI-S pledged. Is student’s understanding, in this case Future Iraqi Leaders, important, or the instructors’ efforts to impose their ideas?
This, AUI-S neo-Reformation, will reach on where with illegal copied books, neither with chapters of The Prince or The Politics.
I shall ask the Lord to give the Copy Center staff strength as the number of students is increasing and more copies will be needed. I hope “Purchasing Department” stop buying luxurious office furniture and spend some time on how to buy “Books”.
From now on, I don’t want to feel guilty. I will not read any copied book or even touch it, as this is:
Amiss
Unlawful
Immoral
Shameful
These are the words I usually hear, but are they practical? Future Iraqi leaders must be treated more carefully and helped to understand all aspects of arguments that instructors want to make.

Well done Bahman Abdulrahman,,,, I see this genre as a constructive criticism,,,
Now, I’m almost lost my mind about what is really happening in AUI-S,,,, it’s been changed from this hand to the other,,,, at first we got a chance and used to express our ideas with our classmates about the topic under the judgment of our instructors,, but now we are responsible to write then memorize what is showed up on the “slides”,,,,,
Dear "Anonymous",,, Mr, Abdulrahman is making his argument,,, so if you are not interested in, you can skep it or ignore yourselves about what is going on,,,,,,
